How To Cook A Frozen Turkey?
I didn’t think it was possible to cook a frozen, but I stand to be corrected. According to the US Department Of Agriculture you can cook a frozen turkey as long as you don’t grill, smoke, deep fry or microwave the turkey. So if you are interested in how to cook a frozen turkey then read the directions below.
When cooking a frozen turkey you will need to allow enough cooking time for the turkey to defrost while cooking. Which means it will take 50% longer to cook then the normal cooking time. For example your normal roasting time for a 15 pound fully thawed unstuffed turkey is about 3 to 3 1/2 hours to cooke in oven temperature 325° F. Now for the same size frozen turkey it will take 4 1/2 to 5 hours cooking time.
Keep in mind if you are going to cook a frozen turkey they come with a giblet package inside the cavity of the turkey and seasoning a frozen turkey is impossible.
So as soon as the turkey has thawed enough you will need allow the turkey to cool enough to remove the giblet package and season the turkey. If you don’t want to allow for cooling be very careful when removing the giblet package use a long handle fork or tongs Then put the turkey back in the oven to finish the cooking process.
Here is another tip for saftey concerns if your giblet package is in a plastic bag and it has begun to melt inside the turkey do not use the giblets or the turkey because of possible harmful chemicals that might have leaked into the turkey meat and giblets.

Finally, here is how to tell if your turkey is ready and safe to eat. Always use a food thermometer to check your turkey often. To do this you simply put the thermomter inside the innermost meaty part of the turkey thigh ofcourse once it has thawed enough to insert one. Your turkey will be safe to eat when the thermomter reaches 165° F.
